I've cnc'd lots of plaster. The key is to let it almost fully cure, then 15 mins before you cut, re-wet the plaster to prevent dust and chips. It'll fling wet plaster globs all over the place, but the dust is minimal and the resultant forms look great especially when finishing with a ball end mill and a low stepover. Run several tests until you find something you like, then run the final one

Anyone ever try and mill plaster? : CNC reddit

Depends on the thickness of the plaster when you cast in a block, but you want to mill before it is bone dry. Let it set for awhile, and when you mill it should not be wet to the touch, but still feels slightly cold. If its warm, it could still be setting, if its room temp and dry then its too dry.
